Denis Tebbutt


Denis entered the Computer Industry in 1972 with the BP subsidiary SCICON after a short time with Fords in new model engineering in London. The advent of this industry and the impact that it would have on the motor industry was the initial attraction but it consumed him with rapid growth and its contribution to the transformation of the manufacturing and finance industries. During the past decade he has been engaged within Australia in the challenges of the healthcare sector as a leader of two major international healthcare applications providers and during the past year as the industry advisor to NeHTA. His strategic mindset and ability to translate and communicate the operational imperatives with the process of execution is recognized within the industry as he has contributed to the eHealth agenda through product development of successful international systems and advocacy of industry leadership and development as a key stakeholder. He is a Board Member of the Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA)

  • Born in London he has lived and worked across three continents and held senior executive roles during the past twenty-five years that have been responsible for business across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia
  • Has held a number of board positions in technology, retail and marketing based companies and advised venture capital funds on their portfolio companies as well as being the architect of the rapid resourcing model for the Camelot consortium that established the inaugural UK Lottery. Here in Australian he has been the Managing Director of iSOFT and InterSystems in the healthcare sector and the Managing Director of Policy Management Systems Corporation and Chief Operating Officer of Financial Network Services, both in the financial services application sector
  • Has advised venture capital funds on their investments and been an interim executive and chairman in the role of transformational change manager for them
  • Past Chair of the NSW Chapter of the Australian Computer Society Foundation, a passionate advocate of improving the local knowledge and skills of our graduates within the technology industry
  • An active mentor and coach to businesses and executives as well as identifying budding new talent
  • A conference speaker who entertains and provokes the audience to see a different perspective as the first stage in transforming their current challenges
