charmhealth signs with North Sydney Central

Coast Local Health District

The Central Coast Regional Cancer Centre (comprising oncology services at the Gosford and Wyong Hospitals) has partnered with the North Sydney Cancer Centre based at Royal North Shore Hospital and the Northern Beaches Cancer Service based at Manly Hospital to procure an enterprise information management solution to support medical oncology and haematology care delivered at those sites, collectively known as North Sydney Central Coast Local Health District (NSCCLHD).

Phased implementation across the NSCCLHD is underway; with phase 1 operational for Scheduling while phase 2 is in progress with the implementation of the Treatment Protocols.

An Implementation Planning Study was completed in June-July 2012, contracts were signed in August 2012 with the first go-live in October 2012 achieved in time for doors opening for the new cancer centre at Royal North Shore.

CHARM™, charmhealth’s flagship product will be implemented across NSCCLHD to address a number of key drivers for the District.

These include:

  • Improve patient treatment and clinic bookings across the region

  • Support a paperless environment and implement an electronic medical record across the region

  • Opening of the new Cancer Centres at the Gosford and Royal North Shore Hospitals

  • Improve communication between staff

  • Improve efficiency of service provision across the region

  • Reduce errors

  • Standardisation of treatment protocols

  • Maximising efficient and cost effective use of drugs
