Charm Health to attend HIC 2017


Charm Health is pleased to announce they will be attending HIC 2017, Australia’s premier digital health, health informatics and e-health conference. HIC 2017  is being held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 6th-9th August 2017. The conference is set to be an action-packed event bringing together clinicians, researchers, IT professionals, industry and consumers to drive innovation and the digital transformation of the healthcare sector.

The primary theme for 2017 is ‘Integrating and Connecting Care’ and will cover topics including:

  • Clinical informatics - Enhancing Clinical Practice

  • Integrating and Connecting Care - Clinician, Patient, Carer and Consumer

  • Digital Innovation and Change

Charm Health to attend eHealth Queensland Expo 2017

Charm Health is pleased to announce they will once again be an exhibitor at the eHealth Queensland Expo. The expo will bring together clinicians, healthcare professionals, IT experts, vendors, start-ups and researchers to focus on digital transformation and innovation in healthcare.

The conference theme for 2017 is ‘operation digital - patient.clinician.technology' and will cover topics including:

  • Connecting Healthcare
  • Promoting Wellbeing
  • Delivering Healthcare
  • Pursuing Innovation

Charm Health CEO, Gary Lakin, commented “The expo allows Charm Health to showcase its brand, product and services for the patient and clinician in the delivery of quality, safe and efficient healthcare within the cancer domain, and we are pleased to attend this event in support of our long standing relationship with Queensland Health".

The expo will be held on May17 at the Royal International Convention Centre, Bowen Hills Brisbane, Queensland. Drop by and visit us at Stand 33 where we will be showcasing some of our latest innovations including our Business Analytics Dashboards and our integration with DoseMe for personalised dosing.


Charm Health User Group (CHUG) 2017

The Charm Health User Group (CHUG) Meeting was held on the 23rd - 24th March 2017.  The meeting was hosted by Charm Health, in Brisbane, Queensland.  The 2017 Charm Health User Group Meeting was well attended, with a good representation across our client base.

Once again the CHUG program provided a series of informative sessions including:

  • Site Presentations – each site gave a background on their implementation of CHARM including how it is used, current interfaces, challenges and benefits.
  • Roadmap and Release Policy – Charm Health presented the latest roadmap for CHARM including an update on the CHARM next generation project.
  • A demonstration of the main functions and features to be released in CHARM v4.7 was provided. This included an overview of the changes developed with respect to the eAdministration (eMAR) module, Business Intelligence/Analytics and Personalised Dosing.
  • Candidates for the CHARM User Sponsored Enhancement were presented and shortlisted.
  • Client breakout sessions to discuss site challenges and potential solutions – concluding with user lead feedback to Charm Health.
  • Charm Health provided and overview of our current Information Security policies and procedures. The session also outlined changes to Charm Health’s Policy and processes with respect to the handling of patient sensitive data to mitigate risk.
  • Client Services Team Initiatives were outlined and focused on the establishment of an online user group forum to facilitate communication and information sharing to be launched with CHARM 4.7 release.

Feedback from participants indicated the user group continues to be a beneficial forum with some important takeaways, including:

  • The CHUG provides an invaluable networking opportunity to learn from other CHARM users

  • The user led forum is provided with the opportunity to explore and define system enhancements and vote on allocating gratis development hours to improvements that benefit a wide range of sites
  • Reinforces confidence that other users experience similar application issues and we are able to come together to network to assist with improvement or process change management
  • Ongoing opportunities for collaboration with the user group recommending the establishment of sub-committees to focus on various aspects of CHARM e.g. Technical sub-committee to discuss technical issues

Jane Blakely from Healthscope was elected as the new chair of the CHUG.  The next face to face meeting will be in Melbourne in March 2018.                                                             


Charm Health User Group (CHUG)

The Charm Health User Group (CHUG) was held in in Melbourne on the 14th and 15th April 2016. The user group was hosted by Cabrini Health with representation from our user base across Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and Victoria.

Judith Day, Deputy CEO, Cabrini Health delivered the Opening Remarks, welcoming the CHUG representatives and providing an excellent start to the programme. Judith spoke to the evolution of Information Systems at Cabrini Health where they have progressed from minimal clinical IT infrastructure to achieving Stage 6 of the HIMSS Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). There are a number of clinical systems in place at Cabrini that have contributed to achieving this status including CHARM. Noting CHARM has been rolled out to all Cabrini Health Campus’ providing oncology services.

The CHUG program continued with a series of informative sessions including:

  • Site Presentations – each site gave a background on their implementation of CHARM including how it is used, current interfaces, challenges and benefits
  • Roadmap and Release Policy – Charm Health presented the latest roadmap for CHARM including an update on the CHARM modernisation project. A demonstration of the eAdministration module delivered with CHARM 4.6 was conducted, feedback from the demonstration was positive
  • A walkthrough of CHARM User Sponsored Enhancement Draft Functional Design & Feedback session was completed ahead of development in CHARM 4.7
  • Candidates for the CHARM User Sponsored Enhancement were presented and shortlisted
  • Client breakout sessions to discuss site challenges and potential solutions – concluding with user lead feedback to Charm Health

Feedback from participants indicated the user group was a beneficial forum with some important takeaways, including:

  • Meeting other clients to exchange ideas and see the different ways they are using CHARM
  • Being more involved with Charm Health
  • Identifying  common issues and agreeing it makes sense to leverage the group’s time and resources to work  on joint solutions
  • Learning about future product direction while gaining inspiration from what others have done.

Matthew Goldrick from ACT Health was elected as the new chair of the CHUG.  The next face to face meeting will be in ACT in March 2017.

Charm Health is pleased to be an exhibitor at the inaugural eHealth Queensland Expo.  The Expo is set to be an action-packed one day event bringing together clinicians, healthcare professionals, IT experts, vendors, start-ups and academia to focus on digital transformation in healthcare.

The conference theme for 2016 is ‘your dose of digital’ and will cover topics including:

  • patient-centric/ integrated care
  • clinical excellence
  • innovation in healthcare.

With more than 850 delegates and 40 trade stands the expo underscores the growing importance of technology in the delivery of quality, safe and efficient healthcare.

Charm Health CEO, Gary Lakin, commented “Queensland Health has been a long-term client of Charm Health. We are pleased to support this important event and to showcase our innovative solutions to help manage cancer care”.

The expo will be held on May 31 at the Royal International Convention Centre, Bowen Hills Brisbane, Queensland.

Day One of the agenda provides Charm Health the opportunity to update our Clients on company direction, product initiatives and roadmaps along with new product functionality. Day Two is designed to be user driven with client presentations to Charm Health, including suggested client enhancements, feedback sessions and the review of the CHUG terms of reference and leadership.

It’s not all hard work, a reception at the end of Day One will give Charm Health and our Clients the opportunity to relax and enjoy further networking opportunities.

11th - 14th August 2014

charmhealth will be presenting at Australia's Health Informatics Conference that is being held at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre from the 11th - 14th August 2014. The topic of the presentation is 'Cloudy with a chance of Sunshine- the changing weather patterns in health IT'. The presentation is during the 'Implementation and the use of health data' session on Thursday 13th August at 13:40 - 1400 in Meeting Room 204.


12th – 14th November 2013

charmhealth exhibited our lastest products at COSA’s 40th Annual Scientific Meeting held at the Adelaide Convention Centre in November showcasing our software to support the conference theme ‘Cancer Care Coming of Age’. Delegates to the meeting included clinicians and researchers representing medical and radiation oncologists, cancer surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health workers. It was great to see that there were a number of Poster presentations that illustrated the use of the CHARM software to provide data for research projects as well as process improvement flows within Oncology Departments.

charmhealth were Supporting Exhibitors at 'Medicines Management 2013' the 39th SHPA National Conference in Cairns which provided the opportunity to showcase our latest products and offerings to our existing and future client base. The conference also provided the opportunity to network with other companies and explore partnering opportunities


31st May – 2nd June 2013

charmhealth were exhibitors at the  2013 ANZ Childrens Haematology Oncology Group scientific meeting.  The ANZCHOG Annual Scientific Meeting is recognised as the leading scientific meeting for paediatric oncology. The event attracted over 250 delegates primarily from Australia and New Zealand in the fields of paediatric oncology, radiation oncology, psycho-oncology, pharmacy, allied health, research scientists and clinical research associates.

Due to the inherent complexities surrounding paediatric oncology, charmhealth were the only Oncology Management software exhibitors present at the conference with a key differentiator of our software in this market being that it supports the complexities of Paediatric Oncology. The CHARM product manages Paediatric Treatment Protocols with support for Dose Calculation Rules, Fluid Rate Rules, Dose Rounding  and Dose Checking specific to the requirements of Paediatrics.
